THE MISSION OF THE GARTH HOMER SOCIETY IS TO CREATE OPPORTUNITIES FOR INDEPENDENCE, GROWTH AND PARTICIPATION IN THE COMMUNITY WITH PEOPLE WHO STRIVE TO OVERCOME DEVELOPMENTAL AND PHYSICAL OBSTACLES.

Tanya Steinhausen

Tanya was born in 1975 in Vancouver BC. She has worked in the ArtWorks Program since 1996. Tanya works diligently as an artist studying and researching places and people. This inspires her to paint and draw subjects such as animals (especially pandas, bats and giraffes), SuperHeroes and castles. Tanya finds particular inspiration in her favourite Canadian artist, Emily Carr. “I like her style, her rough energetic brush strokes and her native villages.” Tanya has had numerous solo exhibits. “I’ve always been an art fanatic”.
