Transportation Fund

$65,000 per year ($500 per client)

On any given day at in the morning and again after lunch at the Garth Homer Centre you can see dozens of clients piling into a fleet of vans.  They include Tanya and Laurie going out to volunteer at Glenwarren Lodge, William, Deanne and Peter off to teach sign language at Torquay Elementary School and Christie, Brian and Julie Heading off to swimming at the Commonwealth Centre.  These activities are essential for our clients to feel independent and included in the community.

This is only possible with a fleet of 10 vans in operation five days a week out of the Garth Homer Centre but keeping the fleet fueled, maintained and up to date is costly.  GHS is working to mitigate those costs through innovative fundraising.  Proceeds from our annual golf tournament allow us to purchase one replacement vehicle each year.  We're particularly excited about our van sponsorship program where companies like RE/MAX and Peninsula Co-op pay a monthly sponsorship to cover the costs of fuel and maintenance and in return wrap the van with their logo. 

This win-win sponsorship obviously helps GHS keeps its fleet on the road while providing a unique marketing opportunity for the company.  Your business can support the Transportation Fund with your marketing budget. A Dodge Grand Caravan will be wrapped with your brand in full colour and incorporated with the Garth Homer Society logo “Building Futures Without Limits”. These vans are out in the community five days a week promoting your brand as a supporter of our community. Sponsorship cost is $250 per month per van and Garth Homer Society will guarantee a minimum of a three year commitment.
