The STARR Program provides support for individuals who have significant emotional, communication and behavioral support needs. As a team we help our clients develop their unique skills and abilities in the community through volunteering, recreation and community exploration.

At the Garth Homer Society, the STARR Team is well known in the building for our enthusiasm for all holidays, in particular Christmas and Halloween. Every fall STARR hosts a Haunted House that draws clients and staff from all over the building.  STARR clients delight in dressing up in gory costumes and doing their spooky best to scare all visitors!

Christmas really brings out the spirit of giving in the STARR team.  Throughout the year the team puts on Pizza and Hot Dog days and stocks two vending machines offsite to raise enough money to provide Christmas Hampers to those less fortunate in our community.

Engaging clients with such fun and meaningful activities is one effective way to meet their individual complex needs.
