ArtWorks Admission Criteria
New clients who are interested in attending the ArtWorks Program will be asked to bring examples of their artwork (i.e. paintings and drawings) when they visit. People who attend ArtWorks: - Participate in a supported studio based visual arts program where painting, drawing and printmaking are offered.
- Have some artistic talent and ability and an interest in exhibiting their art work in the community.
- Are able to work independently and focus on art activities with minimal prompts.
- Are comfortable with group activities, i.e., art talk meetings, daily chair exercises, art outings in the community and exhibition openings.
- Are open to receiving guidance and instruction from staff in developing their art making skills.
- Are able to sustain art making activities for a full day with a focus on the long term goal of developing a body of work for exhibition.
- Are independent in personal care, meal times and mobility.
- Do not require significant behavioral or emotional support.
- Program hours are 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. To enable artists to fully participate in the program it is required that participation be a minimum of 2 full days a week.
- A trial period will be in place for new artists to confirm that the ArtWorks Program is a good fit for the individual.
